What’s One Piece of Tech You Own That You Would Replace Immediately If It Broke?

We all have plenty of technology around the house these days — PCs, phones, tablets, TVs, smart watches, speakers, streaming boxes and probably a few things we've forgotten about. 😄

But what is the one piece of tech you use so much that if it broke tonight, you'd probably order a replacement straight away?

For me, it would be interesting to see what everyone considers essential.

It doesn't have to be expensive or particularly clever either.

So what couldn't you do without?

And just to make it harder — you're only allowed to pick ONE! 😁
 
Both Mrs r0m and I have discussed this in the past, and without a single doubt or hesitation, the essential tech we'd replace would be our smart toilet.

It's gotten to the stage that I look forward to sitting on the throne after being on holiday.

If you had a piece of ermm muck on your arm, would you just wipe it off with some quilted Sharmin (or Izal :()?
Of course not , you'd wash it off immediately, so why not give your old sphincter the same treatment and give it it's own little shower.

They also save a lot of paper, which was handy during the pandemic.

They are a absolute godsend after a curry or some jalapenos, instant relief!

😂😂 Well, I can honestly say I wasn’t expecting “smart toilet” to win the essential-tech competition!

But after that sales pitch, I’m starting to think the rest of us are living in the dark ages. 🤣

The curry and jalapeño emergency mode might just have sold it to me. 🌶️🚿😂

They also provide some comfort for those who suffer from the Duke of Argyll's and Ulcerative Colitis, bowel conditions.
Ours cost something in the region of £350. It's a standard sized seat that fits over the majority of toilets. All you need is a 240v power supply and to plumb the water feed in (push fit connector) and it's good to go.
 
😂 That’s the trouble once you start thinking about it — suddenly half the house becomes “essential tech”!


PC/TV/Z12 would definitely be hard to give up, but I reckon the fridge wins by default… warm beer and spoiled food would soon make you regret choosing the air fryer. 😂


Although losing the air fryer would mean going back to waiting half an hour for the oven to warm up — practically living in the Stone Age! 😁👍
 
Whats on my mind now is a failing Bosch Dishwasher which goes mad on a hot wash on 2.20 cycle and still running 4 hours later and on Eco mode 65 i still have dirty dishes .
 
If asked 5 years ago it would have been a definate PC Answer, now aging like a bad joke, i could lose my Phone for fun
 
My solder rework station.

Used infrequently these days but when you need it you need it.

After that it would be my car code readers and laptop, also these days used for mopeds and motorcycles.
