The big downside in your case
Your existing V6 recordings will be deleted when you convert to 360. Virgin explicitly confirms that recordings and settings cannot be transferred.And interestingly, if you've got a V6, you don't necessarily receive a fundamentally better piece of hardware. Don't do it mate, I did & wish I hadn't.
Changed over 2 in the house a few months ago & one of the boxes already failed (small sample size admittedly but off to a bad start with a new box). The multiroom experience doesn't work well for me, my wife's recordings clutter it up & I have to go searching for anything I've recorded, frustrating. Start-Up screen isn't last channel watched goes to home screen, frustrating. Subtitles: 6 key presses to turn off or on, frustrating.
On Demand is probably the (only) saving grace, easier/faster to navigate. They've renamed the 'last channel' button on the remote to 'tv', frustrating (for me anyway I keep forgetting which button does it, labelling it last channel kinda gave me a clue)

Hmmm, on that post " H " I think I will still hang on to my V6, if they do update it with new firmware, I wonder if my recordings will disappear ??
