With the next SkyOS update, which also brings an Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbot to make better recommendations, Playlist will be ditched entirely in favour of a new menu called My Library.
An early version of this new SkyOS update was seen at the Sky TV headquarters ahead of a planned release date at the end of this year. The decision to rebrand to My Library was taken because of the expansion of what can be tracked via this menu, which now includes specific football teams and actors.
The new-look menu is divided into two: Watchlist and My Recordings.
The former will be familiar to anyone who is used to the current Playlist menu, while the latter is much closer to what you'd expect to find on satellite dish-based boxes, like Sky Q or Sky+ HD.
