Millions of Sky Q customers have now lost access to several channels as Sky confirms that a trio of its services have permanently switched off. The changes mean that customers will no longer be able to watch Sky Witness+1, Sky Atlantic+1 and Sky Crime+1, with all disappearing from the TV guide.

As a quick reminder, Sky Witness+1 currently sits on channel 207, while Sky Atlantic+1 is found on 208 – or 209 in Wales. Sky Crime+1 is on 221, or 222 in Scotland.

As the names suggest, all of these channels simply show the same programmes as their main counterparts one hour later. That has made them a handy option for anyone who misses the start of a favourite show and wants to quickly catch up.

Although this shutdown might sound annoying, Sky says customers won't actually lose access to any content when the channels disappear. Programmes will still be available live and on demand through the main Sky Atlantic, Sky Witness and Sky Crime channels.

Sky Glass and Sky Stream customers are also unaffected, as those internet-powered platforms have never offered the +1 channels. Instead, their built-in access to catch-up and on-demand services means viewers can simply restart or watch programmes they have missed over an internet connection.

Confirming the changes on its community website, Sky said: "Wednesday 30th September 2026 Sky Witness+1 (Satellite 207) closes permanently, Sky Atlantic+1 (Satellite 208 - 209 Wales) closes permanently, Sky Crime+1 (Satellite 221 - 222 Scotland) closes permanently."

So, that's some bad news for Sky Q users,, but there is also an upgrade worth checking out.

The firm has recently launched a redesigned version of its Go app, bringing a refreshed look, easier navigation and features including Continue Watching.

The latter is designed to make it easier to pick up a programme on another device without having to search for it again.

Carli Kerr, Managing Director of Sky TV & NOW, said: “Great entertainment should fit around customers’ lives. Millions of customers already use Sky Go to watch what they love when they’re out and about.

“The new version is designed for Sky Glass and Sky Stream customers, bringing more of the experience they enjoy on the big screen to their devices, so it’s easier to pick up a show, follow the match or set something to record wherever they are.”

The new Sky Go app for Glass and Stream customers is available now through the App Store and Google Play.

Sky Q customers can continue using the existing version of the app.
