After a nearly instant scan it tells you whether you have any, shows more detail for the curious, and lets you delete them to free up space on your C: drive. You use it once and move on.
How much space: The (optional) reports sent in so far show 41% of machines had unneeded files to clean. Of those, the median freed is 22 GB. A few cleared hundreds of GB. For me it was 1.28 GB. The other 59% found nothing to remove, which just means their Installer folder was already clean. More detail in the FAQ below.
Is it safe: Yes. It asks the Windows Installer API itself which files are still needed and only ever lists the ones Windows reports as finished with.
