£480 per year isn't really an option, as it's a small family garage, but I still think its mental price for software

No offence but so are some garages what they charge but that's another story

You could also take a look at mechanicdesk.com.au starting price is about £50 per month. Its what i use at work and we run 8 engineers and office staff on it. Its cloud based with remote access. We run a plant sales company and just swap registrations for machine serial numbers.
