Chalobah completes Como switch​

Como have announced the permanent signing of England international Trevoh Chalobah on a five-year contract from Chelsea for a reported fee of €30m plus add-ons.

Chalobah made his Chelsea debut in 2021 and the defender went on to make more than 150 appearances for the Blues across domestic and European competition. The centre-back made his senior international debut in 2025 and was part of the England squad that finished third at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Chalobah said: "I'm thrilled and honoured to be here at Como: it's an ambitious, rising project, and working with manager Cesc Fabregas again is truly special.

"I can't wait to bring my experience to the team, feel the incredible atmosphere at the stadium, and connect with the fans. I will give my absolute all every single day to make history together".
 
Chelsea have signed left-back Pep Chavarria from La Liga side Rayo Vallecano on a five-year deal for a fee of around £16.3m plus add-ons.

The 28-year-old has signed a contract at Stamford Bridge until 2031 and will join up with his new team-mates at Cobham ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Chavarria said: “This is a dream for me as Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world. It is a big opportunity but I am prepared and will work hard to help the team achieve success.”

The Spaniard began his career with hometown club UE Figueres before moving to UE Olot in 2018.

He joined Real Zaragoza in 2020 and made his professional debut later that year, before earning a move to Rayo Vallecano in 2022.

Chavarria has spent the last four seasons at Rayo, becoming a regular in the side and helping them to consecutive eighth-place finishes in La Liga.

He made 44 appearances last season as Rayo reached the UEFA Conference League final, where they were beaten by Crystal Palace.
 
Chelsea have agreed a £7.5m fee to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

The Argentina international, 33, is set to undergo a medical in London and strengthen the goalkeeping group at Stamford Bridge.

It follows concerns over the performances of Robert Sanchez, particularly in the wake of Monday's 3-2 win over Fulham.

Sanchez, who has been Chelsea's first-choice goalkeeper since 2023, allowed Josh King's shot to slip through his grasp at the near post. He then spilled another effort into a dangerous area in the second half, allowing striker Gonzalo Garcia to score.

The move represents a remarkable turnaround in opinion at Stamford Bridge. Those in charge had been keen to back Sanchez but have opted to move for Martinez days before the transfer deadline.

Chelsea also have Mike Penders, a £17m signing from Genk, among their options. He is line to make his debut in the Carabao Cup against Luton Town on Thursday night.

Villa have been willing to sell Martinez since signing Japan goalkeeper Zion Suzuki from Parma for about £30m earlier this month.
 
Great deal for a World cup winning keeper, if they can get 3-4 yrs service from him. Can also pass on his experience to the younger squad keepers.
 
Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has joined Como on a season-long loan after losing his starting spot to Emiliano Martinez.

Sanchez started the Blues' 3-2 win against Fulham in their Premier League opener but allowed Josh King's shot to slip through his grasp at the near post during an error-strewn display.

Concerns over the Spaniard's performances led to Xabi Alonso's side signing Argentina's Martinez from Aston Villa in a £7.5m deal.

Martinez started Chelsea's 4-3 win against Brighton on Sunday - just hours after the club announced his transfer - while Sanchez was dropped from the matchday squad.

Sanchez, who was first-choice goalkeeper since joining from Brighton in 2023, made 112 appearances and won the Conference League and the Club World Cup with the Stamford Bridge club.
 
Chelsea have agreed a £47m deal to sign Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara.

He is set to sign a six-year deal pending a medical. Monaco rejected a £38.5m (€45m) bid from Chelsea earlier on Deadline Day.

Chelsea's deal to sign Lamine Camara is OFF.

"After reaching a full written club-to-club agreement, Monaco have gone back on their word. The player had his medical and was going to travel to London tomorrow. But that deal is now off. Having renegotiated the Folarin Balogun deal to Everton, Monaco have now reneged on the agreement they had confirmed.

"Chelsea are really unhappy and felt Monaco have acted in a deeply unprofessional way."

Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly and director Mark Walter have agreed to sell their 25 per cent stake in the club to majority shareholders Clearlake Capital in a deal which values Chelsea at £5bn.

The deal paves the way for Clearlake to take full control of Chelsea, owning 86.5 per cent of the club, with Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss owning 13.5 per cent.


Boehly was the face of the consortium which bought Chelsea in 2022 but Clearlake co-founder Behdad Eghbali has become the most powerful figure at the club. Chelsea say there will be no changes to the day-to-day operations, leadership or strategy at the club following this transaction.


Boehly and Walter are making a small profit on their investment. Jonathan Goldstein has also stepped down from the Chelsea board, along with Boehly and Walter. They no longer have any role in Chelsea's governance, management or decision making.

There are no plans to appoint a new chairman but the executive sporting and commercial team are remaining in place
