BT, EE, TalkTalk and Vodafone were named Britain's most complained-about broadband providers between April and June, each recording seven complaints per 100,000 customers.

Overall complaint numbers fell compared to the previous quarter, largely driven by a decline in pay-TV issues, according to regulator Ofcom.

Virgin Media recorded the fewest broadband complaints at four per 100,000 customers, followed by Plusnet and Sky with five each.

Faults, service quality and difficulties getting services connected were the primary drivers of customer complaints across broadband, landline and mobile services.

Plusnet generated the highest number of landline complaints, while O2 and Sky Mobile received the most complaints among mobile providers
