Arsenal have signed midfielder Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle in a £75m transfer.

The 28-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with a further one-year option.

On the move to Arsenal, Guimaraes, who will wear the no. 39 shirt with the Gunners, said: "I feel amazing. I'm glad for the opportunity. Since the first time I spoke to [Andrea] Berta and Mikel [Arteta], I was excited. I just felt inside of me that I need a new challenge in my life and I think to be an Arsenal player is going to be an exciting challenge in my life.

Arsenal have agreed a £55m deal to sign Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa.

The Premier League champions have been looking for a new defender with William Saliba out for an extended period of time and Jurrien Timber also sidelined with a long-term groin problem.

Arsenal looked into a potential deal for Bayer Leverkusen's Jarell Quansah but have chosen to advance with a move for his England team-mate Konsa. Both players have a similar profile and can play at right-back and centre-back.

Gabriel Jesus has completed a move to Barcelona from Arsenal.

The Brazilian moves to the Spotify Camp Nou in a deal worth £8.6m (€10m) where he has penned a deal until June 2029.

The deal may not end Barcelona's long-term pursuit of Julian Alvarez.

Jesus, who joined Arsenal from Manchester City in a £45m deal four years ago, had also been subject to interest from Napoli.

Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli has joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal for a fee of £60m.

The deal, which is worth a guaranteed £60m and includes a sell-on fee, ends the Brazil international's seven-year stay in north London.

Martinelli, 25, has signed a four-year deal with Al-Hilal, who are currently joint-top of the league with Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr.

He joined the Gunners from Brazilian side Ituano in 2019 and had 12 months remaining on his deal at Emirates Stadium, but had been told by manager Mikel Arteta he was not part of his plans for this season.

Mikel Arteta has agreed an improved new contract with Premier League champions Arsenal.

The Spaniard's current deal expires at the end of this season but talks over a new contract have been ongoing for a number of months.

BBC Sport reported earlier this month that an agreement between all parties was close.

And it is now understood Arteta has reached a final agreement with the Gunners to extend his stay.

There is no confirmation over the length of his new contract but it is set to take him into at least his 10th year at the club following his arrival in December 2019.

The new contract will also include a sharp pay increase from his current salary of £10m per year plus an additional £5m in bonuses.

Speaking about his contract talks, Arteta said last week that fans did not need to "worry" because he wanted to stay.

"I'm extremely happy and I feel very grateful to work with the people I work with," he said.
