My Mum's birthday today, she's 88. I think she's really good for her age, went & saw her at lunchtime & there's an item on the telly about the World's Oldest (known) Person turning 117 today. 117 FFS. How many funerals has she been to in her life? I'm early 60's & i feel as though I've got a season ticket at the Crematorium. Hopefully she still has a decent quality of life, kinda pointless living to that age if you don't have any joy imho.

88 is a great age and Happy birthday to your mum!
My dad died at 66... its no age at all
My dad retired at 60, due to ill health at the time, i think this is what finished him off as he became a lot less active..
So yes you definitely need something to keep you occupied.
Keep looking after your mum mate and hopefully she will recieve that telegram from the king..
