Windows 11 Drivers – Do You Let Windows Update Handle Them?​

Windows 11 can automatically download and install drivers for quite a lot of hardware through Windows Update.

For many PCs, you can install Windows and find that graphics, network, audio and other devices are working without manually installing much at all.

However, manufacturers such as NVIDIA, AMD, Intel and motherboard makers also provide their own driver downloads and update utilities.

That got me wondering how everyone handles drivers nowadays.

Do you simply let Windows Update take care of most of them?

Or do you regularly visit the manufacturer's website and install the latest drivers yourself?

I've always been a little wary of updating a driver that's working perfectly well just because a newer version exists.

Have you ever had Windows Update install a driver that actually caused a problem?

And what's your rule with drivers — keep everything updated, or if it isn't broken, don't fix it?

or i use manufacturers first

Same here If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

I normally stick with the manufacturer’s drivers/software first as well. If everything is working properly, I don’t see much point changing things just for the sake of it.
