If you're not getting the option to save CouchyTV as the default launcher, you can try setting it directly through ADB.

Once you're connected to the device with ADB, run:

adb shell cmd package set-home-activity com.conreo.couchytv/.MainActivity

Then press the Home button on the remote and see if CouchyTV opens as the default launcher.

If the command gives you an error, post the exact error here and we'll have a look.
